At Dolcetta, we bring together talented mothers—mostly in Ukraine, across Europe, and in the UK. For many, knitting is more than work: it is therapy, it is dignity, and it is connection. Within our community, women find not only income, but also solidarity. Each creation carries that same spirit of belonging, designed for parents who treasure family and wish to build their own legacy of comfort and love.

Why This Matters to Me

I started my first business over ten years ago, just before I became pregnant with my eldest. From the very beginning, I worked late into the nights while my children slept—often past midnight. It was demanding, yet I felt immense gratitude: to be present for their childhood while still building my own dream.

Dolcetta is deeply personal to me not only because I grew up wrapped in garments my grandmother knitted while I slept, but also because I now have the chance to support other mothers in weaving their own balance of family and work. Our artisans can fit their craft around their lives—whether part-time, full-time, or in the quiet hours after bedtime.

The Challenge We Face

Everyday life is becoming harder to sustain, especially in Ukraine, where many of our knitters live. We dream of raising their salaries far beyond a living wage. But as a small, independent label working with premium fibres and careful craftsmanship, our resources are limited. It was from this tension that the Mother’s Legacy Fund was born.

When you make a purchase, you’ll see the option to add a small donation. It’s never expected—but always cherished. Every penny goes directly to the mother who poured her love into the piece that wraps your little one. Your generosity helps her provide her children with nutritious food, healthcare, and education.

For me, it also recalls the comfort of my grandmother’s hand-knits, and how her love was passed down in every stitch.
